{Bay Pointe Inn Gun Lake Wedding Photographer}
I met Rebecca and Jake on their wedding day. They live in Texas and we talked by phone and email up until their big day. I hope they can say the same, but I felt like we click right away and it was just “easy” to work with them both. Jake admitted getting his picture taken was not the part of the day he was really looking forward to, but he did great! I just told him hold and snuggle your girl and we are all good. 🙂 They were married and had their lovely reception at Bay Pointe Inn on Gull Lake. Always one of my favorite venues to photograph a wedding!! I am so honored they chose me to be their Wedding Photographer at Bay Pointe Inn. I loved everything about this day….the sweet couple and the wonderful venue.
Here is their love story and thoughts on their wedding day in their words….
Jake and I actually went to high school together and never really talked at all during that time. It wasn’t until college that he started IM-ing me and wanting to hang out. At first, I was not into it, but his persistence paid off and after a full year of talking I finally decided to go on a date with him and after that the rest was history:) We have been together for just under 7 years!!
YES! And I was NOT AT ALL expecting it! It was my birthday weekend two years ago when he told me he was going out with a friend to birthday shop for me. I was working and was about to leave when he told me he was just getting home. I pulled into the drive and saw his car, but there weren’t any lights on which I thought was strange, (still had no idea what was going on) I unlocked the door, walked in and couldn’t see a thing, so I turned the lights on to find rose petals all of the floor leading me into our room. I opened the door and there he was waiting on one knee with tears in his eyes. I was in complete shock! And, obviously I said yes! It was the sweetest thing ever!
I think my favorite characteristic about Jake is his passion to work hard and his determination to be better and do better for the both of us. -Rebecca
My favorite characteristic about Beck is her determination for setting a goal or her mind to something and going above and beyond those expectations. -Jake
We love baseball and anything that has to do with it. GO TIGERS! We also enjoy cooking together, reading, hiking and being outdoors.
My favorite part of the wedding was our first dance. To me, it felt like we were the only two humans left on Earth and it was perfect:) -Rebecca
Seeing her for the first time as she was walking down the steps to the aisle. -Jake

Honestly, being so stressed prior to the big day. Just as everyone says it will flow perfectly and everything will work out. And it did just that.
Enjoy every second of your big day!! It literally flies by just as I’m sure you’ve heard everyone else say. Seriously just take a minute as a newly married couple to stand back and take it all in and look at what you two have accomplished and overcome to get to that very moment. It truly is an amazing feeling and one that you will never want to forget. Also, don’t stress over the little things!
JAMAICA! And it was absolutely breathtaking!! If you ever get the chance to go, DO IT! The people are the sweetest, the food is fantastic and you literally forget about real life for a short amount of time and really enjoy yourself. It was perfect and we are already planning a return visit for our anniversary:)
We have overcome so many things through our relationship that its hard to choose just one. At the young age of 23 and 24 we moved away from our families in Michigan to start our lives together 1800 miles away in Texas where I conquered graduate school, we’ve become closer as a couple, started our careers, and just simply lived for our relationship and each other.
1. Live each day with purpose.
2. Love without boundaries.
3. Make time for each other even through our busy and unrelenting schedules.

CHOOSE MELISSA AS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER!! No joke, you will not be disappointed. The one thing we did not want to regret was the person who would be documenting our entire day through photos. She is so easy to work with, works to understand you fully and what you want on your special day, and goes above and beyond to get that perfect shot. Jake and I have already decided that if we perhaps MAY need family photos in the future we will be traveling to Michigan to visit Melissa:)
